Bruce:

We were just having the exact same discussion sitting on our dock on Pine
Lake in Sammamish watching (but not lighting) fireworks. I can't say there's been
any birds killed, but they sure get nervous. We could hear the bats right
over our heads. We saw a Momma Mallard with eight fuzzballs, only two days old.
They scattered while she worked really hard to keep them together. A Canada
Goose family with three goslings didn't know which way to turn. We have a mother
deer with two babies wandering in the forest around us.

Wonder what they are all thinking. Part of me enjoys the show, the other part
is so sad for the wildlife.

Happy/Sad Fourth of July everyone,
