Birders,

I left Kelowna at 5 30 AM and headed for the highlands to the E. along Hwy
33. Birds were still singing at higher elevations, even between scattered
rain showers. Nesting appears to be drawing to an end for many species,
which are now feeding fledglings.

Hwy 33 (5 km winding strech N. of Big White Rd)

I then continued S. along the Hwy to the Arlington Lakes FSR, which is about
25 km N. of Beaverdell. Unfortunately the road has been closed since I was
last there, due to a wash-out, however, it goes just far enough for some
interesting birding. About 10 years ago I had my lifer Rusty Blackbird
there, with a nest, but none today.
