The northern Idaho LEAST FLYCATCHER found almost a month ago along Black
Rock Road east of ID 3, just south of the Coeur d'Alene River in Kootenai Co
near the Lane Marsh, continues to be seen. The bird was near the driveway of
the second house, addressed S17701. ID DeLorme 60, B-2.

Idaho's first ever report of a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was made on 26 Jun by
Terry and Christine Gray. They spotted the plover at the Genesee sewage
ponds on the Nez Perce/Latah county line. The bird was only present for a
few hours.

The Spokane, Spokane Co, WA UPLAND SANDPIPER reported last year is in the
same location again. Jim Acton found a bird on May 21 along Deno Road in
Spokane County. Look for it near the power substation west of the
intersection of Deno Road and Hayford Road. The bird is very stealthy.
Wilson Cady reports seeing it over the weekend, but only on one of 6 trips
to the sight, despite spending up to 2 hours on some visits. Also there,
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW. If you visit, stay on the roads and don't enter any
fields to limit disturbance to the bird.

A male LESSER GOLDFINCH was near Kendrick, Latah Co ID on Jul 5. I found the
bird along the bike trail 1 mile south of the jct of ID 99 and ID 3 in
Kendrick. Terry Gray reports seeing the bird later that day about 100 yards
upstream.

Reports of southbound hummingbirds and shorebirds are starting to filter in.
It's getting to be that time of year....
