I was checking the Georgia-Pacific Camas paper mills effluent ponds on Lady Island in the Columbia River on July 9th and saw four SPOTTED SANDPIPERS along the rocky shore of the ponds. They have been present there at least since the first of June.
There was one "Slender-billed" WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH calling from the Black Cottonwood forest at the East end of the island, a first sighting for Lady Island.
