American Robins do this, too. And yesterday, I looked
out my office window to see one of our resident Anna's
Hummingbirds come down, buzz the basil patch, and then
very carefully lower itself onto the poplar-chip path.
It spread out its wings and stayed there for half a
minute. Amazing.
