Sunday, July 13, 4:31 PM. This is Michael Fleming, (206) 297-3234. Did some
birding today at Discovery Park. Saw 3 LEAST SANDPIPERS out by the West Port
Lighthouse. Also saw a PURPLE MARTIN in the marshland area along the North
Beach. Good luck and good birding.

Monday, July 14, 4:33 PM. Hello, this is Wayne Weber from Delta, B.C.,
phone number (604) 597-7201 with a couple of slightly belated sightings from
July 9th and 10th . On July 9th I was birding at the south end of Soap Lake
in Okanogan County, this is on the Soap Lake Road, a dirt road northeast of
Brewster and south of the city of Okanogan and there was a pair of AVOCETS
with three very small chicks there, probably less than a week old. This is a
pretty localized breeding species in Okanogan County.
On the morning of July the 10th, around Rainy Pass on the North Cascade
Highway, I had 2 or 3 PINE GROSBEAKS - not too much of interest there. That
afternoon on July the 10th, about 3 to 3:30 PM, at the County Line Ponds on
state route 20, that's in Skagit County just south of the border with
Whatcom County, I had a male AMERICAN REDSTART singing quite loudly and
persistently despite the hot weather and I got a brief but quite good look
at it. This has been a regular spot for REDSTARTS in the last 3 or 4 years.
That's it for now.

Thanks
