Hello All,

I just heard second-hand today that a TOWNSEND'S SHEARWATER was seen at
point blank range by an extremely reliable observer from a fishing boat 15
miles off Neah Bay. I'm sorry to report that in my excitement about the
sighting, I forgot to get the date of the sighting but I believe it was
within the last week. I will contact the observer when he is back from
California next week to get the exact date.

I believe that this would be a first North American record (at least from
the mainland north of Mexico).

Cheers and Good Birding,
Ted Kenefick
