Subject: Rufous (female) still around

I still have the annual crop of juvenile Rufous around
my yard in Renton. I have not seen the adults for a
couple of weeks now, but their kids are hanging
around. They do not seem to use the feeder as much as
the adults were. Spend most of their time chasing
each other around the yard. There are about 3 or 4
around the yard. Still plenty of flowers to feed
them, though!
And I have also watched them bathing in my waterfall
on several occasions (sitting on a flat rock that has
shallow water running over it), which surprised me
because I had heard they would only fly through mist
to bathe.
Very bold as well. I have had several fly up to
within a couple of feet of me to check me out!
Fun Fun!!
