It's been a strange and wonderful year so far in our yard.
Although we are bird friendly and hummer friendly, we've never had much
luck keeping them around. But this year my wife noticed them early,
and we put up our feeders and we've had sporadic but regular attenders.

Currently yardbirds we have, as some have mentioned, bunches of bushtits,
also cadres of chickadees (with new fledges although it's not from our
chickadee box),
some VERY LOUD bewicks wrens.

Although summer yard birding can be slow, this is also the time where I
sometimes
sit late in the day and watch the yard for much longer periods than i
normally
can, and special birds do pop up. This next week i expect to get
a far amount of 'yard time.'
