Subject: bobwhite in Lake Stevens

We had a very surprising yard bird yesterday. A male northern
bobwhite perched in a tree for quite some time and was very vocal.
We were able to get within about 20 feet of it while it appeared quite
unconcerned. We noticed that it had two red bands on its right leg.
The bands were narrow and looked more like loops and had no
discernable markings.
Does anyone know where this bird might have come from or if anyone is
interested in knowing about it?
