After reviewing several books and paging through old American Birds records,
the following records of Xantus' Murrelet of the race "hypoleucus" have been
found for other Washington records.

The first record was a bird collected off Cape Flattery, Wa. on Aug. 7, 1947.

Terry Wahl and Eugene Hunn had three pairs! on a Westport Pelagic, Sept. 11,
1978. This record is in the March 1979 issue of American Birds.
The third record that Greg Gillson made me aware of was a pair seen 36 nm W
of Ledbetter Point on Sept. 6, 2001. This was from a research vessel that
Michael Force was on.

So the pair we had on July 19, on the Westport Pelagic trip maybe the fourth
record for Washington. However, other research boats records could surface.
