They're pretty much gone, were only on the south end of San Juan when present.
If, on the last day of your trip, you take the dirtiest pair of socks your
group can
come up with (streaked brown), roll them up and then toss them as high as you
can into a vacant field with tan (i.e. sun-cooked) grass while whistling
revelie, that's
about what you'd have seen.
Or take the ferry to Sidney, B.C. They're found not far from there in
fields at the airport.
Taking the ferry from Orcas to Sidney is easy but getting back is a monumental
hassle.
