Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

On July 18 an immature YELLOW-BILLED LOON was at the North Spit of Coos Bay..
On July 19 a HORNED PUFFIN flew southward off Cape Arago near Coos Bay.

RING-NECKED DUCK, RUDDY DUCK, and WILSON?S PHALAROPES nested this summer on
the North Spit of Coos Bay. A SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER was there July 19. A
BLACK SWIFT was seen July 17 along Hwy 34 about ten miles east of Waldport.
On July 19 a BLACK TURNSTONE and two TATTLERS were on the South Jetty of
Tillamook Bay.

A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was at the Hunsaker Road marsh south of Turner July 17..
Several family groups of REDHEADS are now at Fern Ridge Reservoir. This
would be the first reported nesting west of the Cascades. On July 18 a
territorial SOLITARY SANDPIPER was at Gold Lake Bog at the summit of
Willamette pass southeast of Eugene. On July 18 two SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS
were at Painted Cove in the Painted Hills MN near Mitchell.
