The Washington Ornithological Society is pleased to present the line-up
of field trip leaders for the 2003 WOS Annual Conference to be held in
Long Beach on September 19, 20 and 21. We are excited about this
conference and the variety of trips that are offered, and have assembled
a great team of birders to lead us to the many excellent birding spots
in the conference area. September is one of the best times for
shorebirds along the Washington coast, and the Long Beach-Willapa Bay
complex offers some of the best shorebirding around. In addition, our
trips offer a wide variety of habitats from the open fields of the
Chinook Valley, to the forests and rocky headlands of Fort Canby, to the
extensive open beaches of Leadbetter Point, and the many interesting
areas of the Columbia River South Jetty. This should result in good
views of many of the other land and sea birds that we expect to see. The
pelagic trips on Friday and Saturday will be run out of Ilwaco and
should produce exciting views of seabirds.

Join us for this weekend of great birding! You must be a WOS member to
attend the Conference, and can join and register by going to the WOS
website (www.wos.org), clicking on the WOS 2003 Conference registration
link and printing out the PDF registration form. Please note that
registration begins on August 4th and materials received before that
date will be processed in random order. Materials received after August
4th will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
