Hi Tweeters,

I made an early morning run to Paradise (I like the sound of that, don't you?) to try for the Ptarmigan and the Gray Crowned Rosy Finch (Whew! That one's long enough to need an abbreviation) Hit on the Finch, dipped on the Ptarmigan, but just barely! Nice 4 mile walk with a 1500 foot elevation change, but the finches were worth it. Nice long close up looks in great light. Nothing else too unusual except for the mammals. Besides the usual marmots, deer, chipmonks and ground squirrels, I had my very first look at a Pika and an up close encounter with a healthy, adult coyote. (Did I spell that right?) Odd to see one at 6000 feet...
