I have forwarded an email (below) from Joe Meche about a Black Swift survey
he did at Wells Creek Falls this weekend, because I thought it captured the
essence of what I hope others are experiencing from this project. Of course, it
helps to see Black Swifts at your site, but I hope many of you are just
enjoying visiting new places, and there are always other interesting things to see.

I am also listing below the waterfalls that have been reported to me with
Black Swifts present in the late evening hours at the waterfalls or immediately
above the falls (indicating nesting is likely).

unnamed falls on Cascade Highway

Hopefully, I didn't foget any so far. There are many falls that I have yet
to hear from people on, so the list is likely to grow. If you want to take a

and then click on regions. This is the same waterfalls web page listed on our
black swift web page, but it is being updated and the address we list there
doesn't work now. There are many new falls listed on the revised web page so I
have been trying to identify any that sound highly suitable for Black Swifts.

All for now....I am headed for the Columbia Gorge this evening to see if I
can replicate Joe Meche's experience!
