Dear Tweeters,

Someone recently told me that Washington State was supposed to have the largest population of American Crows of any state. I don't remember who told me this factoid, but I think it was a non-birder. It struck me as a dubious claim. since Texas and California are so much larger and have a few crows of their own.

Has anyone heard this before? Is there someplace where one can find comparative statistics on bird populations of the states?
