This evening, from 7:30 to 8:15, I watched a WILSON'S PHALAROPE actively
feed at the old Llama Farm pond located on NE 8th st. between 228th and
244th Ave NE in Sammamish, WA. It was a striking female in breeding
plumage.

This small lake was quite active with GREEN-WINGED and BLUE-WINGED TEAL,
GADWALL, PIED-BILLED GREBE, SPOTTED SANDPIPER and a host of MALLARDS, CANADA
GEESE (with young) and KILLDEER. There were numerous swallows and a few
VAUX'S SWIFT flying about. The surrounding area is being developed and was
recently clear cut, allowing unobstructed views and close access to this
pond. There may be constuction going on during the day, but at the time I
went, all was quiet.
