This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Bird Alert for Tuesday,
June 3rd, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores in
Vancouver and North Vancouver.

RARE BIRD ALERT for a male TENNESSEE WARBLER!

The feature birds are PURPLE MARTIN and WILLET.

Sighting for Tuesday, June 3rd

RARE BIRD ALERT! A singing male TENNESSE WARBLER was seen and heard at the
corner of Quebec Street and Terminal Avenue south of Science World in
Vancouver.

At Blackie Spit there were 8 PURPLE MARTINS at the nest boxes. Along the
spit was a WILLET.

Sightings for Monday, June 2nd

Along Rannie Road in Pitt Meadows at the first sharp bend were 2 EASTERN
KINGBIRDS, 1 WESTERN KINGBIRD, 4 GRAY CATBIRDS and 1 AMERICAN BITTERN.
Along the Grant Narrows Dyke Trail were 1 BULLOCK'S ORIOLE, 100 BLACK
SWIFTS, 10 VAUX'S SWIFTS, 2 EASTERN KINGBIRDS and an overflight of 10
SANDHILL CRANES.

In Bear Creek Park in Surrey were 3 BARRED OWLS 2 adults and 1 juvenile.

Along Highway 10 at 112th St were a flock of 6 SANDHILL CRANES.
