Heading south on SR-503 near Brush Prairie (Clark County)around noon
(6/5/03), I ran across (no pun here as I didn't hit the bird) a Chukar
trying to cross the road (a 4-lane highway). The bird seemed confused,
stopping traffic for a bit as it flew and landed in the road several times
before finally making it off the road. This area is broken fields, as
suburbia blends to rural. A bird released by hunters??
