Once at Marymoor park I watched a grey squirrel trash can diving. It came
out of the can with a morsel and was immediately set upon by a pair of crows
who had been sitting in the tree above the trashcan. After repeated dives,
the squirrel abandoned the prize, the crows squabbled over it, one took
possession of it. The squirrel returned to its trash can. This whole
sequence was repeated, over and over again. I formed the opinioned that gray
squirrels, or at least this one, are none too good at learning from
experience. Or maybe, as a friend suggested, the squirrel was an employee of
the crows.
