As a belated follow up to Michael Hobb's report on Marymoor Park, here is a
description of the RED-EYED VIREO display.

After following its song around in the trees for several minutes and
periodically getting to actually see the bird, some of the group saw the male fly to a
branch and land in front of a female. The (assumed) male then extended its
neck, showing a surprisingly long neck, and then moved its head from side to
side several times while keeping its neck extended. The side-to-side movement
was very exaggerated. It then flew off and we moved on to catch the rest of
the group and share what we saw.

It was quite a show and was the first time I have ever seen that display.
What a treat!

During the excitement of watching the display and with everyone's oohs and
ahs, I don't remember paying attention to whether the male continued to sing
during the display. Does anyone else remember?
