We have a pair of chestnut-backs who've just set up housekeeping in the box by our deck. It's low enough to look inside. I did the other day because we're thinking of tearing down the fence it's nailed to--that's when I confirmed they actually were nesting.

I know bluebird boxes can be peeked in (my sister's kids do this regularly) and I know many boxes are monitored for egg count, etc., but I'm afraid the birds will abandon the nest if disturbed. Does anyone know if this disturbs them or do they just wait then return? Is going onto my deck a problem?
