We get suet from our local butcher and, yes, that type of feeder works very
well We have both Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers, both Chickadees, Steller's
Jays, Flickers, occasional sparrows and even a Brown Creeper investigating the
area. Even had a Pileated Woodpecker the other day. Several years ago, we had
a Hairy come and tap on the siding of the house when the suet feeder was
empty! Be careful what you wish for! Regards,
