Tonight I was down at Juanita Bay Park watching the beavers when I heard the distinct call of a COMMON NIGHTHAWK. I looked up and saw the bird clearly, flying North over the bay. There was also a female WOOD DUCK with 5 small babies in the beaver pond on the big bridge, at least 5 BALD EAGLES seen very closely over the bay, several singing BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, and the male BULLOCK'S ORIOLE was flying around, clearly visible near its nest on the West Boardwalk.

While walking home I was watching the bats fly above me. As I approached my house there were 2 larger shapes flying low through my backyard. I quickly got them in my binoculars and was very surprised to find 2 more COMMON NIGHTHAWKS flying swiftly through the trees. Earlier in the evening an OSPREY had also flown through my backyard.
