This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Bird Alert for Wednesday,
June 11th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores in
Vancouver and North Vancouver.

The feature bird is LEAST FLYCATCHER.

Sightings for Wednesday, June 11th

In Pitt Meadows along the Grant Narrows Dyke trail 200m from the start the
LEAST FLYCATCHER was again reported. Also seen at this location were 2 GRAY
CATBIRDS, 1 EASTERN KINGBIRD, 1 TRUMPETER SWAN, 2 MUTE SWANS and 1 SANDHILL
CRANE. At the first bend of Rannie Road were 2 TURKEY VULTURES and 1 EASTERN
KINGBIRD.

At 112th Street in Boundary Bay were 2 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS.

At the Capilano Fish Hatchery in North Vancouver 1 AMERICAN DIPPER was seen
below the wier.

In the pond at Ambleside Park also in North Vancouver were 3 adult GREEN
HERONS. A RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER was found in Pine Trees near the parking
lot of the park.

Out of town in Abbotsford 3 LAZULI BUNTINGS were seen near Glenmore Road.

Tuesday, June 10th

In a late report 1 AMERICAN BITTERN was found just past the train tracks
along 88th Street in Boundary Bay.

Monday, June 9th

A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was reported from the Blueridge area of North Vancouver.
