Good morning all, I drove down to the Blockhouse Rd. area just on the southeast side of Oakville with hopes of seeing a Lazuli Bunting that had been previously reported there. I arrived there at about 8:15am this morning. As I traveled just southeast of the intersection of Elma Gate Rd. and Blockhouse Rd., I heard a singing bird that I didn't recognize. I jumped out of the car and found the bird sitting in some small trees in one of the mowed fields. It had a blue head and back, white belly, and white barring on its wings which all indicated a Lazuli Bunting. I only saw the one, but I didn't have a lot of time to spend searching this morning. I'm happy to report this a life bird for me. Thanks to Ruth and Patrick Sullivan for the good directions to this area.
