Hi Tweeters,

Richard Repp from Yakima alerted us to the presence of the Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher in Hardy Canyon last Tuesday after he followed up the report of
a possible sighting by a Seattle birder on Monday. It is quite likely the
same bird that spent five or six weeks in Hardy Canyon last year. It was in
the same general area as last year, about 50-125 yards north of the lone
pine tree.

I went up there this morning to see if I could get some photos of it. I was
able to get several photos that are better than the ones I got last year.

I also discovered that it has made a nest and was able to get a photo of it
sitting on the nest. It went to the nest three times in the two hours I was
there. After it left one of the times, I looked in the nest to see if, by
some chance, there were eggs in the nest. There weren't, of course, since
there is no female in the area. It had also made a nest last year, though
the nest this year is much more substantial.
