Warm weather, no breeze to speak of, and an outgoing tide made for a pleasant stroll along the Duwamish (Tukwila, across from the Museum of Flight) at noon today. Species, in order seen, included the following:

PEREGRINE FALCON (1) (the first I've seen from this site: on the power tower across the river for at least the 40 mins I was out there)
OSPREY (2) (One on the nest and one on the power tower, about 70 feet below the Peregrine Falcon.)
EUROPEAN STARLING (over 20)
SONG SPARROW (2)
HOUSE FINCH (5)
GREAT BLUE HERON (1)
MALLARD (3)
ROCK DOVE (over 20)
AMERICAN CROW (harassing a raccoon on the mudbank across the river) (over 20)
GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL (1)
BALD EAGLE (1) (The osprey on the tower quit its preening to fly up above the eagle, diving on it three times; the eagle soared off to the southwest. The osprey then flew to the power tower on this (east) side of the river, settled on top, and started preening. Interesting point: Across the river, the Osprey off the nest generally lands on a power-tower support that's about the same height as the nearby nest. On this side of the river, the Osprey(s) generally use the top of the tower as a landing zone.)
