I did an hour long seawatch from the south jetty of the
Columbia River. Wind was mostly from the west with overcast
skies, but good visibility. There were lots of SOOTY
SHEARWATERS and a surprising number of RHINOCERUS AUKLETS.
I'll send out a list later.

I'll start with the one I'm absolutely sured about....

At 09:30 a MANX SHEARWATER flew by at less than 200m and I
was able to follow it for nearly a minute. All black above,
all white below, including the vent and undertail coverts.
Underwing white. Rapid wing beats, short glides. I will
send full details after my nap.

At about 09:20 (yes, seen before the MASH) a small, black
and white alcid flew by at less than 200m. It was all black
from above, all white below. The chin, throat and upper
breast were immaculate white. There were no white or pale
at the scapulars. The underwing was gray, lighter than the
upper wing, but not white or even a flashy pale gray. I cannot
categorically exclude non-breeding MARBLED MURRELET, but all
field marks taken together more nearly match CRAVERI'S
MURRELET.
