Just had to get out yesterday morning for some birding, so I went
out very early and was lucky to do that since we have had company for a week.
Covering Point-No-Point and Foulweather Bluff I counted up to 100-150
Rhinocerous Auklets in both places. They were showing in groups of 20 or more and
seemed to be happy that the rigors of nesting is drawing to a close. A number of
Willow Flycatchers were calling everywhere at Foulweather Bluff along with a
Pacific Slope Flycatcher. Also had great scope views of a Olive-sided
Flycatcher calling from on top a fir snag. It was just great to be out, and I am
defenitly looking forward to returning birds.
Good birding,
Doug Watkins
