Birded the lower Yakima Valley from Granger to Lateral "C" Rd. today
spent most of my time at the Toppenish Wildlife Refuge.

Highlites today were 10 AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN riding the thermals
over the refuge, 4 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON flying in front of the
observation deck, and the two BOBOLINK on Lateral "C" Rd.

Also of note was the BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE nest inside the observation
deck, with at least two (about to fledge) young. A great chance for a
close look at these resourceful birds.
