Dear Tweeters,

After reading the recent report of a Catbird up at Barnaby Slough (near Rockport, Skagit County), I went up today to check it out. It was indeed as beautiful a place to look at and listen to songbirds as I had remembered from earlier trips there. Unfortunately, there was nary a trace of a Catbird to be found. There were lots of Red-eyed Vireos, three Hooded Mergansers, a couple of Pied-billed Grebes, and lots of songbirds singing.

On to my question. I just opened my copy of Washington Birder, and lo and behold, there is a Dusky Thrush record for Skagit County, June of last year. Since it was not the April (fool's) issue, I doubt that it was a joke. Has any information on this rarity reached the public--perhaps via the Freedom of Information Act?
