Late this morning at the north end of Lake Sammamish there were at least
four purple martins, and possibly three pairs; martins were seen at two
boxes in the new cluster of five that I installed a few weeks ago, and a
pair was 75 yards to the south in the boxes installed by Cecily Way. It
appeared that one pair was still building a nest, while the others were
seemingly much less busy. At one point we did see four martins at once, and
others may have been inside the boxes. Tree swallows were also building a
nest at the cluster of five, and quite a few others were checking out the
vacant boxes.
Two green herons were also seen at the edge of water atop old pilings.
The site may be hard to see from shore, a canoe or kayak would be best way
to go.

Yesterday at Kellogg Island I think there were as many as three pairs, and
at Terminal 105 there were at least two pairs. Jack Block Park was closed to
public access.

Luhr Beach is a busy place for martins, with one pair known to have 5 eggs
as of Monday.
