Subject: RFI: A Birder's Travel from Seattle questions

Greetings! I will be making a birding trip back east (disguised as a family
visit - Tee! Hee!) in a couple of weeks and have a question about long term
parking at Sea-Tac. I have only flown out of Sea-Tac once before and the only
info I could find about any accommodations for long-term parking was the
parking garage attached to the terminal for $20.00/day. Thank Heavens that time I
was only gone three days. Being from (at least during recent years) the
Phoenix area I am accustomed to a large, detached, long-term lot where the parking
runs about $4-$6 per day. HELP! There must be something other than the
garage, but I am just not finding the info.

I would use the metro to get to and from the airport, but I need to be at
check-in about 5: 30 a.m. and will be getting back late at night; alas, there is
no bus service from Mukilteo to accommodate these hours of travel. I have
also checked online for shuttle service and it appears that would add up to about
the same as the $20 per day parking for the week I will be gone.

ALSO: I will be taking at one long lens and other camera equipment (one of
the reasons for the early flight...not to mention the better rate); has flying
with optics been going smoothly for you traveling birders? I plan to carry on
the photography equipment, all except a tripod which fits nicely in a
suitcase.

My sister lives on a lovely farm in WV with a river running through it and a
pond with at least one GBH. Last visit I discovered a pair of nesting
Swainson's Warblers. I keep telling her when she retires in a few years she should
set up a B&B for birders, but have yet to be convincing!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Peace and Good Health! Judy
