Subject: RFI: Intro to Yakima Co Birding

Greetings,

Confession time: I haven't birded in Yakima County much at all. Am
thinking of wending my way over Snoq Pass tomorrow, and would welcome
ideas/routes that would give a YakCo newcomer a feel for the lay of the
land. I know that's kind of ambitious for a short day-trip. My plan is to
go to the Wanapum Dam area first and scope out whatever's there, then look
for Gray-crowned Rosy Finches, then head over to YakCo after that. What
could I do/where could I go in 3-4 hours?? Am interested in starting to
learn the county's usual birding spots rather than in looking for specific
species at this point. Any suggestions really appreciated!

Thanks,

Mary Klein
