Arden, Mary Ann & Glenn Teague, and I birded the Vancouver Lake Lowlands
this morning (Sunday the 2nd) and found the HARRIS SPARROW at the previously
reported spot on Old River Rd by the entrance to the Evergreen Aluminum
plant. There are many Golden-crowned Sparrows, a few Song and Fox Sparrows
in the flocks.

We also found a WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH in the Vancouver Park area near the
bathrooms on the northern end of the park (where the trail begins). Another
one was found in the trees on the other side of 501 near the slough.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was alone 501 (Shilliapoo Lake area) working the field
close to the road. There are hundreds of Sandhill Cranes and we counted 13
Great Egret in the area along with thousands of Canada Geese.

A quick run out to Steigerwald NWR to find the WHITE-TAILED KITE that Arden
had seen yesterday did not result in a find but there were a small flock of
Wood Ducks on one of the sewage ponds.
