The Blue Jay that showed up south of Othello is still present. Apparently
it found a walnut tree nearby. The last two mornings it has been much more
vocal and "frisky" between 7 and 9 a.m. It uses the south end of the
Sundance Loop, south of Atkinson Road which is east off SR 24, 3+ miles
south of Othello.

I ran out to Scooteney Reservoir (northern Franklin Co.) around 3 p.m. this
afternoon and found more than 800 Sandhill Cranes feeding in a corn field
north of the reservoir along Coyan Road, west of SR 17. With the south wind
blowing today there are probably more arriving.
