I had a quick cruise along the Edmonds waterfront Saturday morning. There
was a
flock of 20 Brants just north of the Brackett's Landing jetty. South of the
ferry dock were surf scoters, buffleheads, pigeon guillemots, double-crested
cormorants, western gulls, and red-necked grebes. Over at the Marsh there
was a blue heron, and a mixed flock of mallards and green-winged teals.
They took flight when a red-tailed hawk appeared. It was interesting to
watch red-winged blackbirds dive-bomb the hawk.
