Dear Dianna,
First to let you know, that we did not been going to Ocean Shores latly,so
the Great Egret is all your find.I dont remember seeing any reported in
Ocean Shores there this year. Good find for Ocean Shores!!!!
Now about the Rufous and the Anna,s.The Rufous is more aqgressive. When on
November 12th 1999 we had a male Anna'scomming to our feeder.A female Anna's
came on the 29th.This two birds stayed all winter, comming to two feeders
constantly.Than in March our first Rufous male arrived and looking to my
notes, this Rufous male took agressivly over.I wrote notes as:on2.45pm male
Rufous and male Anna's chasing each other,,the male Rufous got real
agressive than ,he also went on to the suet .On the 19th the female Rufous
arrived at 4.00 pm I was than real worried about my Anna's might not come
back. The way it went for awhile the Anna's came real early or real latein
the evenig. But after a while there tolerate each other. My Anna's stayed and
been here since this first date.I would hang up two feeders, this in case.I
enjoying my Anna's so much since ther already had the first brut on the
feeder on the 17th of February. The feeder got used that day 36 times and
you can tell by the feathers that there was young birds. So much for
that. It's going to be The Ocean from now on,and thank you for sending the
nice article what Kathleen wrote about the CBC for the Grays Harbor Co.She
is realy a top writer, and i enjoying reading all the other activithy in
Ocean Shores to.When i see you i will tell you about my house.
