Tweets - 8 of us met this morning at 7:00 on a windy, cloudy day. It
didn't rain, however, and the temperature (while not warm) was not too
cold. Despite the wind, birding was OK. Still, nothing much new.

Highlights:

Common Goldeneye GREAT looks at the weir, 2 males, 1 female
Bald Eagle Adult to the SE (where nest is), imm
over slough
Red-breasted Sapsucker East of slough, a bit south of the windmill.
Nice looks.
Wh.-throated Sparrow 3rd week, same time, same place

Matt Bartels worked over the mansion area after we all left. He picked up
a male TOWNSEND'S WARBLER, 2 BROWN CREEPER, and 3 LINCOLN'S SPARROW.

Last Saturday, the Rowing Club Red-tailed Hawks were copulating in the
large cottonwood north of the boathouse. I also had a Western Meadowlark.

Last Wednesday, Kevin Stump saw us gawking at the 8 simultaneous
Red-tailed Hawks, and watched as several TREE SWALLOWS flew past us
without our noticing. I still haven't seen a single swallow anywhere in
2003. People keep emailing me with sightings from locations I've just
visited.

For the day, 46 (plus Matt's 3). We did convince ourselves of both
Greater and Lesser Scaup today. Adding in Kevin's Tree Swallows brings
the year list to 73.
