On 4 March an ad ICELAND GULL was seen from Lincoln Rock State Park, Douglas
Co WA north of East Wenatchee according to Dave Beaudette. The gull was
observed for about 30 minutes from campsite 65, just upriver from Rocky
Reach Dam. The bird then flew upriver and was seen again on the Columbia
River from the big pullout at Long View Road and US 2. Lincoln Rock SP is
along US 2 at milepost 132.5. The park is closed but you can walk in. Long
View Road is at US 2 milepost 135.5. WA DeLorme 83, D-6.

A second ICELAND GULL, this one a sub ad second winter bird, was seen by
Mike and MerryLynn Denny in western Walla Walla Co WA on 8 March. This bird
was along US 12 about 4 miles north of the jct of US 12 and US 730 on the
Wallula poop piles just north of the Boise Cascade pulpmill. There's a nice
pull-out at US 12 milepost 303. WA DeLorme 40, D-1.

Just south at the Walla Walla River Delta was an EURASIAN WIGEON, 300+
DUNLIN, and an ad MEW GULL. The delta can be accessed 0.1 mile north of
Madame Dorian Park. There's a pull-out along US 12 at milepost 306.9 and a
path to the delta. WA DeLorme 40, D-1.

A SNOWY OWL was seen 5 March in Douglas Co WA by Meredith and Dave Spencer.
The bird was east of Waterville on a power pole near the intersection of
Road 8 and Road H before flying south toward Road 6. WA DeLorme 84, C-1.

On 6 March, a ROSS'S GOOSE and an EURASIAN WIGEON were on a pond on private
ground southeast of Colville, Co WA, according to Bill Dowd and Warren
Current. The pond is along Rocky Lake Road. To get there.... At the first
traffic light on the south edge of Colville, turn east onto Hawthorne and go
2 blocks past the junior high. Turn right on Garden Homes Drive. Go 0.5 mile
and turn right on Graham Road. Take the next right on Hotchkiss. Take the
next right onto Rocky Lake Road and go about 200 yards to the pond. WA
DeLorme 118, D-1.

An ad MEW GULL was on the east end of Lake Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai Co ID on
8 March according to Lisa Hardy. The bird was on the mud where Wolf Lodge
Creek enters the lake, just south of I-90. Wolf Lodge Bay is at I-90 exit 22
east of Coeur d'Alene. Check your Birder's Guide to Idaho p 51. ID DeLorme
