Hi all,
Went on a job interview on Friday which didn't go very well. So as
consolation I went out birding for a while around Blackman Lake in Snohomish.
Usually the lake is teaming with waterfowl but today there were only a few
ducks and a Double-crested Cormorant. The sun had come out and the small
stuff was busy in the trees. As I scanned the tree tops, to my delight I saw
two Townsend's Warblers along with Red-Breasted Nuthatch, Chestnut-backed
Chickadee, Black-capped Chickadee, Ruby and Golden-crowned Kinglets and a
single Bushtit. I also had the pleasure of seeing a mixed group of around 10
Tree and Violet-green Swallows chattering away as they were flying overhead.
Sure made up for the lousy start to my day!
Happily Birding,
B
