Tweets - I spent the day cleaning out about 25 bird houses at Marymoor,
"replanting" a perch post, fixing a couple of the boxes, etc. Of course,
I kept my binos with me as I worked, and managed to see a few birds:

PEREGRINE FALCON over the model airplane field around 1:30
Wilson's Snipe SIX on the far (west) side of the weir
Belted Kingfisher Near SR 520 on the slough
Tree Swallow About 8 at the lake. Maybe a VGSW to the north
Lincoln's Sparrow Perhaps 6, all along the slough from SR 520 to
south of the windmill

Also, a largish turtle in the slough, and two garter snakes.

As for the birdhouses, most had old nests in them - I'd think about 75%
occupancy. Most were soaking wet and moldy, so definitely good to get
cleaned out! I think there were about equal numbers of Black-capped
Chickadee and Tree Swallow nests, as well as one or two I didn't
recognize. We know Bewick's Wren nested in one of the boxes last year.
I'll have to keep better track of who's nesting where this year.
