With freaky warm weather pushed ahead of hail storms, it was definitely Spring today
in Orting.
The sun was out this morning and so were the swallows, chittering and swooping
along side the Puyallup river. We were mapping wetlands and trying not to step on
the singing frogs.
After lunch, the marsh wrens really got going and were tireless in their efforts to
make the most of the sunny weather.
but the best part was the red tailed hawk who flew straight at another hawk right over
my head and dove on the intruder, hard. It sure didn't look like courtship behavior -
Hawk #1 wanted Hawk #2 outtathere. It was beautiful watching them soar and
maneuver against the dark clouds and Mt. Rainier in the backgroundClarice Clark
