Wed 3/12 11:46am. Steve Pink. 425 273 0598. Yesterday in Skagit Co, Fir
Island Road, I saw one adult BLACK CROWNED NIGHT HERON in the traditional
spot despite the lack of vegetation. Thanks and good birding.

Fri 3/14 12:22p Fletch Waller on Mercer Island. I have spotted 3 times
in the last couple of months what appears to be a mutant robin. It is a
white robin, has a yellow bill, dark legs, a dark eye, flocks with robins,
behaves on the ground exactly like robins, same shape as all the rest,
with just a few streaks of black in wing and along the sides but it's
startlingly white, like a seagull white. I've seen it at the island crest
park flocking with robins on 2 occasions, and yesterday saw it in Pioneer
Park along the crest of Island Crest.

Sat 3/15 7:16a Hi, this is Tom Aversa, reporting on a trip yesterday.
Thanks to Bill Tweit I was able to find that Spizella sparrow in the field
south of Elma, just north of the Chehalis Bridge, just south of the little
slough in the weedy fields. There's quite a congregation of sparrows, at
least a couple of WHITE THROATS with the Spizella, which looks pretty
close to clay-colored, altho the rump does appear gray. It was very
cooperative if anybody's interesting in trying to get some photographs.
The field is on the west side of wakefield rd, just south of wenzel
slough.
