A female sharpy probably would be able to take a rock dove. But if it's a
male, it was probably really annoyed and knowing how accipiters get when
they're PO'd, they'll go after anything. A rock dove really meets its match
in agility with an sex of sharpy. How cool that would have been to see. You
were really lucky!! Let us know of anymore encounters.
