This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Rare Bird Alert for
Thursday, March 20th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores
in Vancouver and North Vancouver.
Sightings for March 20th
At Terra Nova in Richmond were one LONG-EARED OWL and a GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, which was seen in a flock of SNOW GEESE.
In the Ranch Park area of Coquitlam was a BAND-TAILED PIGEON.
In a late report for March 19th, at 23rd and Dunbar in Vancouver was an
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD.
There were no reports on March 18th and 19th
Sightings for March 17th
At Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver was a GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE.
Sightings for March 16th
At the mouth of Little Campbell River in South Surrey was a Eurasian
GREEN-WINGED TEAL.
At Iona were one NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW, 10 VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS, 6
TREE SWALLOWS, 5 BARN SWALLOWS and 5 GREATER YELLOWLEGS.
