Subject: Non bird question...blueberry chemicals?

Well it's not totally unrelated to birds obviously. I was watching several
farm workers toss some sort of granular chemical over my neighbors blueberry
field in the pouring rain a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, his property
has a creek running through it which ends up in a marsh about 1/4 mile away
and runoff must be inevitable. Does any one know what might be used on
blueberries at this time of year other than fertilizer? (email privately) It
was being tossed by the handful. I'm not on speaking terms with him, so
asking wouldn't help, and attempts of education would be scorned.

On a side note, I had a male rufous hummer take several stabs at my suet
feeder yesterday, which is located right next to the hummer feeder. He
actually scared of a junco who was there feeding!

Thanks,

Rod, Olympia
