Hi Tweeters,

I saw a banded brant yesterday at Alki and want to know where to report the tag number to.

I forget how beautiful these geese are until I see them. The alternate pale/dark colors on the sides is mesmerizing. There was about 100 of them at Alki.

In the evening I ended up at Golden Gardens becuase I had heard of an unusual duck there. It seems to be a mallard hybrid because of the greenish head and curly tail "thing" (technical term...) It is a very interesting duck because the rest of the body feathers appear black but are all iridescent shifting colors between green and blue in the light.

Oh yeah, earlier in the day I had a meeting to attend at about 10th and Spring downtown and somehow ended up showing up an hour early so intended to just walk down far enough to see Belle and Stewart's, the Seattle peregrine digs, but ended up at the waterfront. The peregrine's were not around. Just out from Ivar's was a nearly full breeding plumaged Red Necked Grebe. Very nice. Between the waterfront and 5th avenue back, is pretty steep, but I was only a little late back to the meeting. Other than the usual suspects in town was some BC Chickadee's in the courthouse trees.
